You might have wondered why I dropped off the face of the earth....
And if you did you're my favorite :)
Well to be honest, life has gotten quite busy lately! I'm in the home stretch of my school year: quickly approaching finals, P R O M, and finding a job! And with all of these things I've sadly had to push my blog to the back burner :(
But do not fret my fellow readers! The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow--there will be a blog post!
I love you all very much. xx.

Life Lessons I Learned From: Perks of Being a Wallflower
I feel like all of my titles have the word "new" in it, at least the last two did. Oh well. I can't be too creative I guess :)
So here goes my first Movie Life Lessons post! I hope you're excited as I am (which is a crap ton).
I've taken a lot of thought into what my first movie post would be. As much as I would love to do something funny or romantic I decided NO. Why would I betray one of my ultimate favorite movies? The truth is, is that this film probably falls into my Top 5. Not only do I believe it is a movie that can apply to anyone universally, it is also a movie that makes me cry every. single. time. It also features Emma Watson which gives it like 1,000 points to Gryffindor. So here it goes, I'll try to keep it contained but this whole movie is a life lesson.
1. We all need friends.
If you haven't seen this movie that's okay. But the first and foremost thing that you'll learn from it is that we all need friends. Even introverts, and I can speak from this on a personal level. The main character, Charlie, struggles making friends during his freshman year of high school. (Haven't we all haven't faced a time when you felt lonely?) After some difficult weeks he is introduced to some seniors who befriend him.
2. People are all going through their own trials.
Throughout this entire movie, we learn about the problems each character faces. It taught me most of all that no one lives perfect lives. Whether you're suffering emotionally or physically, everyone is going through their own struggles. We may not know about most of them. But what is important is sticking together.
3. Freshmen year is hard, but you really find yourself.
No truer words were spoken by the mama's boy himself. I can attest to this as well, and you can't really explain it until you have lived it yourself. When I was in middle school, teachers were throwing out A's if you smiled at them. What a hard slap in the face it was when I landed my first B since fourth grade in my Honors Geometry class. Tears were shed and long hours of panicking were spent. But it was in those disheartening times that I truly found myself.
4. Good music is good music. It will be good music forever.
Whether you like alternative, country, top 40, or even elevator music--it doesn't matter as long as it is good to you. Hold onto that song, and listen to it when you feel sad because it will be a good song forever. In the movie, Charlie's favorite song is Asleep by The Smiths. If you haven't listened to it, go do so now and you might find yourself softly sobbing while baking cookies.
5. Someday, you are going to have to face your problems.
I think what truly makes this movie so incredibly relatable are the problems that the characters face, and slowly throughout the course of the film you see each of them overcome their personal trial. Don't we all go through similar things? We reach the high highs, and the very low lows in our life. In the end we are all capable of overcoming our struggles with the help of family, friends, and love.
6. Make sure your first kiss is with someone who loves you.
Because it's the one you'll remember. And it shouldn't be wasted.
7. We accept the love we think we deserve.
This is a lesson I think that can be hard to swallow or to deeply realize. But when I first watched this movie, it made all of the sense in the world to me. You won't stay with someone ultimately if you don't feel worthy of it. However, I think that self worth plays a large role in this. If we believe that we deserve someone who sees the best in us (and that you deserve to be loved deeply because YOU are important) despite all of the flaws we flagrantly posses then I believe that can be a pathway to something true and happy. I think that's what Charlie wanted Sam to know.
8. We are infinite.
If you take absolutely nothing away from this movie or this blog post ultimately I just want you, my lovely reader, to take this and know that YOU are infinite. You are made of something more than cells that live and die. You are made of something beautiful and we still don't know all about you yet. Make moments where these truths can shine and you can feel it in your heart that you are infinite.

Yeah. I went a little mother dearest and pulled the whole YOU'RE SPECIAL line on you guys. I just am really emotionally invested into this movie that all of my feels come out spilling on the keyboard and I can't help but type like an emotional slob.
So this was my first Movie Life Lessons post. I hope you liked it. :)
And let me know down in the comments what movie you want me to do next.
I love you all!

A Tale of Two Friends
I apologize for my faint absence the past few weeks, I've actually been doing a lot of personal thinking and making decisions regarding my future. I've also wanted to take a few minutes and breathe, and take into consideration the posts I'd like to feature on my blog.
See, I wanted this blog to be unconventional. But I also wanted it to be inconspicuous. Originally I was going to leave this blog as a sort of e-diary where I could write about anything that came to my mind whether it be a load of crap or something so incredibly deep that I thought of at three o'clock in the morning. In the end, it wouldn't matter because no one would be reading it, and if they were they were probably just perusing the internet and happened to fall upon it. Well here I am now, and I've got all of these wonderful ideas and only a handful of readers. Which honestly, couldn't be any better because that means I can still post anything and everything, even if it is crap. And it won't matter.
I was actually headed into a direction with this blog post, and it wasn't going to be about my blog. So I'll go for it now.
Today I've got a story for you. (Be excited).
Once upon a time, there were two lovely friends. One was named Brianna and the other Sara. They had known each other since they were nine years old, but it wasn't until their twelfth birthday that they realized that they had a special bond. Brianna was sweet and quiet, and Sara was just the right amount of boisterous energy to make anyone smile. While their personalities might have been different, the two shared a love of fun and laughter. Years passed and the two girls remained best friends; however things still changed though as they grew older. Brianna began to open up and wasn't as quiet anymore, while Sara was still happy--but a bit more reserved. It wasn't anything bad, the two were maturing. Maturing in their own ways. They now went to separate schools and didn't get to see each other quiet as often as before, but that didn't mean both girls weren't happy. Sara had found a boy in whom she cared deeply for, and Brianna developed in many talents that she enjoyed.
Friendship is like a tree, if not tended to it can often grow in several different ways and directions.
Now nearly five years have passed since the two girls became friends, distances have increased and time together has decreased.
Sara could is growing up very fast, and Brianna is still trying to decide what her favorite breakfast food is. Both are very happy in the lives they are leading, but is it too late to trim back the tree and groom to what could be a wonderful friendship?
To be perfectly honest I'm not really sure where the story goes from here. I'm still living it.
But I'll let you know when I figure it out.

Why I've Been Rocking Winged Eyeliner Since 2010
When I was eleven years old I remember fantasizing about the wondrous days when I would finally be old enough to wear makeup out in public. There were of course times when I would playfully wear blue body glitter to a birthday party or quietly play with my mom’s makeup when she wasn’t looking. There was even a time when my best friend and I experimented with purple eye shadow and did each other’s winged eyeliner--before it was even cool. We were way ahead of our time ;) Now at seventeen years old, I must admit there are times when I dread having to wake up those extra fifteen minutes in the morning just so I can cover that blemish or swipe on some mascara so I can accentuate my eyelashes.
The makeup companies can make it challenging sometimes to appreciate your natural look. They provide you with all of the right products to achieve, “the look”, high cheekbones, perfect skin, and big lips. While I can appreciate a cream to hide a blemish I sometimes wonder why I’m applying everything. Who decides what “the look” is--and why does it even matter? Why does it matter if my face is rounder than hers, or if her eyes are smaller than mine?
I’m not here to completely bash makeup companies or suggest we boycott makeup altogether. I’m here because I think the real reason we should be wearing makeup has quickly vanished behind big and bright posters promising us with nearly impossible results. We should be wearing makeup to make ourselves feel better, to highlight our wonderful and unique traits because I promise we all have them. We should not be wearing makeup so that we can all look the same. What makes makeup wonderful is that it individualizes us. You can emulate “the look” but you cannot be her, and she cannot be you because you are “be-you-tiful”.
I’ve been rocking winged eyeliner since 2010. It may have taken a while to perfect the look (who doesn't love those long eagle wings??). The girl in the first photo may look ridiculous, but it’s only taken her a second from the very beginning to feel amazing when she wears it.
Started from the bottom now we here.
PS - Do not worry my lovelies! Life Lessons from Movies are coming very soon. In fact I have a draft right now waiting to be published. Hold tight, we're almost there :)
xx.

Start of Something New
I promised surprises (maybe I didn't) buuuut....SURPRISE!
I have decided I will start a new blog post segment called "Life Lessons I Learned From _____". I'll be picking classic movies that I love, and choosing small life lessons I learned from them. They'll probably dwell in the realm of anywhere between the Princess Bride to Never Been Kissed, and of course, my childlike fantasies like the Barbie movies. They'll probably have to be once a month. So prepare yourself for some flipping awesome blog posts.
And in other news, Valentine's Day is literally here. I mean seriously, it's here. So I hope you get to be surrounded by those that you love, even if you do not have a significant other. Love can still exist within families and friends and there's no reason you can't celebrate that!
So in the spirit of the holidays I found y'all some cute e-cards.

In case you didn't know, I love Pride and Prejudice. So anything Darcy related I will most likely love. :)
Ciao my sisters (or misters if you're reading...?)

The Beginning of a New Era
You realize at this point in time, we're just as far away from 2030 as we are with 2000? It's quite crazy to think about and often baffles my own mind.
Anyway.
Hi, my name is Brittany! This is my third attempt at starting a blog, and perhaps the third time is the charm. I don't know what happens but whenever I start a blog, I get into a new phase or school gets harder. Slowly and sadly, I drop the blog. I apologize, but that's reality. So here I am now, older and wiser, but I still love to eat Lucky Charms for breakfast.
If you'll stay and join me for this ride, buckle in because it is going to be a bumpy ride! But no adventure comes without its drawbacks.
I know generally I should do introductions and give you a list all about the special snowflake that I am. But no, I'm not going to do it. Yep, that's right. I'm taking control of the keyboard now. In fact, here is my decree to Blogville.
You can call me Brittany. And that's all you need to know.
